Accuracy Rate

The percentage of your resolved predictions that were correct. Calculated as (correct predictions ÷ total resolved predictions) × 100. This is the primary metric used to rank predictors on the leaderboard.

Category

A grouping of markets by subject area. PeoplesOdds categories include Sports, Politics, Entertainment, Finance, Technology, and Culture. Your accuracy is tracked separately for each category.

Consensus

The aggregated prediction of the crowd on a given market. Displayed as a percentage breakdown across possible outcomes. For example, a consensus of 65/35 means 65% of predictors chose one outcome and 35% chose the other.

Contrarian Call

A prediction that goes against the majority consensus. Contrarian calls carry higher reputational reward when correct because they demonstrate independent judgement.

Crowd Sentiment Signal

A Pro feature that shows how consensus is shifting over time, not just where it stands at a single moment. Indicates whether opinion is solidifying or wavering before a market closes.

Edge

A persistent advantage in prediction accuracy within a specific category or market type. Developing an edge means you consistently outperform the crowd in a given area.

Historical Pattern Matching

A Pro feature that analyses how markets with similar characteristics have resolved in the past, providing context for current predictions.

Leaderboard

A public ranking of predictors by accuracy rate. Available in global, category-specific, weekly, monthly, all-time, and friend-group views.

Market

A question about a real-world outcome that users can predict on. Each market has a defined set of possible outcomes and a closing time.

Market Alert

A Pro notification triggered when a new market matching your specified criteria goes live. Configurable by category, type, and closing window.

Market Resolution

The point at which a market’s real-world outcome is determined and all predictions are scored. Resolution is based on pre-defined, publicly verifiable sources.

PeoplesOdds Pro

The premium subscription tier offering advanced analytics, crowd sentiment signals, custom market alerts, historical pattern matching, and priority leaderboard access.

Prediction

A user’s recorded call on the outcome of a market. Predictions are locked once submitted and cannot be changed.

Prediction Streak

The number of consecutive correct predictions a user has made. Streaks are tracked in real time and displayed on profiles and leaderboards.

Weekly Accuracy Report

A personalised report delivered every week containing your prediction count, accuracy rate, category breakdown, crowd comparison, and leaderboard position.
