PeoplesOdds Is Not Gambling
No money is wagered on any prediction on PeoplesOdds. No financial instrument is traded. There are no stakes, no payouts, and no financial risk associated with making a prediction. The competition is based on accuracy, not money. However, we understand that competitive dynamics can still lead to unhealthy patterns of use, and we design our platform with this in mind.
Tools for Responsible Engagement
Activity Notifications
If your usage patterns suggest extended sessions significantly above your normal activity, we will send you a gentle notification reminding you to take a break.
Session Time Visibility
Your account settings include a session time tracker so you can see how much time you are spending on the platform. Awareness is the first step toward healthy engagement.
Notification Controls
All push notifications and email communications are fully customisable. If you feel that notifications are creating pressure to engage more than you would like, you can reduce or turn them off entirely.
Account Pause
If you need a break, you can pause your account for a defined period. While paused, you will not receive any communications and your account will be inaccessible. Your data and leaderboard position will be preserved.
Our Design Principles
We design PeoplesOdds with the following responsible engagement principles: we do not use dark patterns to pressure users into predictions, we do not penalise users for taking breaks, we do not create artificial urgency beyond the natural closing times of markets, and we provide clear and honest feedback even when the results are not what you wanted to hear.
